Jim Walch CEO, Conway Hall Ethical Society
Past Present and Future
The Conway Hall Ethical Society, formerly the South Place Ethical Society, based in London at Conway Hall, is thought to be the oldest surviving freethought organisation in the world and is the only remaining ethical society in the United Kingdom. It can trace its history back to 1793 and the current Chief Executive, Jim Walsh, will talk about the history and current work of the society. It now advocates secular humanism and is a member of the International Humanist and Ethical Union.
We also hold regular social events.
We have a library of interesting books on many topics. Newsletters are available to download as PDF
Information about Humanist funerals and other ceremonies can be found here.
